The story of SAMIRA

Samira and Olivia
Samira in her new home

SAMIRA was found on the road to Lato by two English tourists. She had a big wound on her back that was extremely infected. At that time she was around 2 months of age.
We were contacted and as soon as we saw her back we took her straight to the local vet. She was treated and taken to Katia & her daughter Olivia who are one of our regular foster homes. She was a shy little thing but learned to trust people very quickly, her wounds healed very well. We prepared her for the journey to paradise...
When Katia flew on the 10th of December to Switzerland to visit her family she took Samira and Ariadni (her puppy friend) with her to Geneva. She traveled on by train to Bern where she would meet Anita. Anita is one of our contacts in Switzerland who have helped us already more then once to find beautiful homes for our foster children.

It was freezing cold that time so everybody was happy to arrive home. These little puppies had never seen anything that cold and white and were surprised to find their dog baskets next those things that we call 'central heating'....

At the same time there was a Swiss family who already have 3 children and 3 cats. Their mother had always wished to have a dog. They had decided to go and visit a few sanctuaries in the area to see if there was anything that would fit in with their family. The day before they had planned to go; Mama Andrea  remembered talking to a lady called Anita who is in animal welfare. She decided to go and visit Anita. There she saw little Samira.  Who looked up at her with her eyes saying ' I am the one... ?! ' She fell in love with her at that moment! She rushed home and convinced her family to go and meet Samira. Her husband forgot all his doubts as soon as he laid eyes on the little girl.
They decided to take her home. The oldest daughter who was still in school while all of this had happened she could not believe her eyes when she walked through the door. Her first question was " .... whose little dog is that??" She is the prettiest dog I have ever seen! So from then on Samira was child number 4!!

" She is a dream dog and makes our life complete" the whole family says. We take her everywhere, even on our winter holiday in Austria where we went skiing. As the photo's show Samira is as happy as her new family!
