PEOPLE BEHIND
![]() |
Ann: President and founder member. English, has been living in Crete for 30 years. She is very much the driving force behind our organization working tirelessly on the "hands-on" and organizational side, liaising with Arche Noah and others. She is the main contact for emergency cases; makes innumerable trips every year transporting dogs to the airport and vets; fosters puppies, is one of the volunteers who feed, water and clean the dogs and puppies and is also involved in all fund-raising activities. |

Pete: Vice President. English, has been living in Crete for 8 years. His "roving commission" with FOTA includes writing and publishing our newsletter; sharing the administration work with Ann; maintaining the feeding stations; fund raising and generally stepping in to help wherever he can. He has fostered adult dogs in the past and fosters puppies which are too young to go into the compound. |

Sue: Secretary. English, has been living in Crete for 8 years with husband, Pete, (Vice President). She is involved in fostering and fund raising and in particular our Market Stall which she set up in 2006 and runs with the help of her friend, Sandie, every Friday morning during the tourist season. Their outgoing personalities have attracted the attention of passing tourists resulting in much-needed additional funds by way of donations and the sale of small animal-related items. |

She is also involved with fund raising. Her ability to speak English, German and Greek, as well as her own language, has proved to be a tremendous help with these activities. Her trip to Germany on our behalf in February 2007 is featured on the "News" page of our website. |

Sylvia: English, has been living in Crete for 3 years. She has fostered dogs for us and is one of our little band of helpers who feed and water the dogs and puppies and do the essential job of cleaning the compound on a daily basis. Her help is invaluable acting as a helper when needed on airport trips. She is also involved with fund raising activities. |

Katja: Swiss has been living in Crete for 3 years. She is the very generous lady who allowed us to convert her garden into 2 compounds where we keep most of the dogs and puppies whilst waiting to be vaccinated, micro-chipped and for the relevant paperwork to be completed prior to their journey to Germany, Holland & Switzerland to be re-homed. |

CJ & Stu: English, have been living in Crete for 2 years. Although they live approx. 1 hour drive from where we have the dogs, they have made many trips transporting them to the airport and vets. They also foster dogs on a regular basis, in particular those with psychological problems caused by abuse, giving them the love and attention needed to get them to trust people again. |
