She got what she deserved ??

Pictured above is a beautiful ,sweet dog who we called “Glyka” (Greek word for “sweet”). She was rescued by us after tourists reported seeing her being dragged along the road behind a pickup truck in Gouves, not far from Heraklion, whilst Greek men stood at the side of the road watching and laughing! Can you imagine why anyone would want to do this and why anyone would find this remotely funny? What kind of human beings are they?

As you can see, her feet and legs were scraped raw in places but, despite this, when we took her into care she still showed remarkable trust and affection for the people who were helping her. Glyka recovered completely from her ordeal and we flew her out to Holland where, with the help of the “Mirtos Animal Project” she found a wonderful new home.

We have had feedback from them telling us that the lady who now owns her, bought a new pair of shoes costing 130 euro and Glyka promptly chewed them into pieces! What did her new owner do? She picked her up , gave a big kiss and said, “It doesn’t matter, it’s only money!”

OH YES, SHE GOT WHAT SHE DESERVED!!
