On the 19th of March 2005 Phaedra flew to Germany, with her she had 6 pups that were on their way to find new families. Because of the time of year there were no charter flights so they had to fly through Athens. It was a long day but it prooved to be more than worth it.........
ARRIVAL IN HEAVEN....
They arrived in Duesseldorf airport where they were being picked up by Tanja. [Tanja is the manager and vet of the sanctuary in Vlotho] Vlotho is a small town near to Hannover. From Duesseldorf this was a drive of another 3 hours. All of them were very tired but glad to be there.......

GREEN GRASS EVERYWHERE....
First thing we did was release the 2 brothers and 4 sisters from their cages and allowed them a well apreciated run in one of the many fenced in fields that belong to the sanctuary. The pups could not believe what happened to them. The strange smells,the green grass....and cold feet. It was not as warm as in Crete......
Afterwards they were put into their temporary homes. Which are a fenced in space with a room [beds with warm blankets that you can eat aswell...!!]. Central heating,food and a nice fresh bowl of water were served by some very friendly people. We could get used to this quite easily.....

LOVELY PEOPLE....
Very good news came two days after Phaedra had returned to Crete. Tanja's email said that already 3 of the pups had found loving homes.The left photo shows Margarita with the daughter of the family, both still a bit shy...The right picture shows little Freddy in the arms of his new mum....
